so when i downloaded the latest  windows version of the game i couldn't play it because a message appeared telling me if i was sure I really wanted to open this because it could potentially be a virus. I downloaded the game from this website and I want to know if it's really safe

How do i download the game so that I do not have to restart from scratch everytime a new update comes out?
